Even though he specialized in works for children, such as El conejito descontento (The Unhappy Rabbit, 1974), El pavo cantor (The Turkey Cantor, 1979), and ¡Llega el circo! (The Circus is Coming!, 1981), Freddy Artiles is also the author of works for adults, including Adriana en dos tiempos (Adriana in Double Time, 1973), El esquema (The Plan, 1985), and La Cueva (The Cave, 1992). Other of his works for the puppet theatre include El mundo al revés (The Upside Down World, 1987), La explosion (1999), El Quijote anda (El Quixote Walketh, 2000), Cine-Títeres (Cine-Puppets, 2001), Pinocho y el tiburón morado (Pinocchio and the Purple Shark, 2004).
Among his research works, the most important are La actuación en el teatro de títeres (Performance in Puppet Theatre, 1980), Teatro y dramaturgía para los niños en la Revolución (Theatre and Drama for Children in the Revolution, 1988) and Títeres, historia, teoría y tradición (Puppets, History, Theory and Tradition, 1998).
