Spanish puppeteer, known as, “The Puppeteer from Retiro”, the great public park in Madrid. He was a relentless researcher, collector, editor and writer, authoring Titelles, teatro popular (Puppets, Popular Theatre, 1981), Los Títeres de Falla y García Lorca (The Puppets of Falla and García Lorca, 1995) and editing the journal Títere (Puppet), the only publication devoted to this art in Spain for many years.

Many current practitioners owe their discovery of the world of puppetry to the contagious enthusiasm displayed at his theatre in Retiro. He died in Madrid, and following his wishes, his ashes were scattered in Retiro Park.
